DescriptionPumice, a type of igneous rock, is mostly made of volcanic glass and air holes. The holes are vesicles, bubbles that were in the magma at the time it solidified. Pumice is generally associated with rhyolite, and is often accompanied by thicker layers of obsidian. This sample is 9 cm across.
