DescriptionDike feeding into a columnar jointed andesitic lava flow below Llao Rock dome in the NW wall of 6,800-year old Crater Lake caldera (view from boat on the lake). The basal brown formation beneath the andesitic flow is a 400,000 year-old shield volcano in cross section, which preceded the modern Mazama stratocone atop which the Crater Lake formed.
