Title | Asymmetic boudinage in Honey Hills mylonite zone |
---|---|
Description | The sills of granite intruded into calcareous schist of the Hebron Formation in southeastern Connecticut are in various stages of asymmetric boudinage. Numerous small boudins show the asymmetry and the large sill at the top of the roadcut shows an intermediate stage of boudin formation. The sills fracture and are disrupted along small faults, whereas the mylonitized schist is flowing ductilly. Sense of shear for this locality is top-down to the northwest. |
