Title | Nepheline |
Description | Nepheline is a major rock forming mineral and is a major component of several igneous rocks. It is a feldspathoid and there are very few natural nephelines that have the pure chemical formula of NaAlSiO4. Many times the sodium is variable with potassium. Nepheline comes from the Greek, nephele, meaning cloud, because it becomes clouded when put in strong acid. |
