Description | This rock typically consists of nearly parallel rodlike masses of quartz (SiO2) surrounded by feldspar (XAl(1-2)Si(3-2)O8). It is used as gemstones for pieces such as pendants and for fashioning ornaments, particularly relatively large ones such as bookends. It can be found anywhere where granite is. |
