DescriptionMicrocline belongs to the Feldspar Group. Microcline is a common, but not a well known mineral. Some forms of microcline, such as amazonite and perthite, have been used as semi-precious stones. Microcline is a polymorph of other minerals that share the same chemistry, but have different crystal structures. Its mineral formula is KAlSi3O8. Microcline comes from the Greek mikron meaning “little” and klinein meaning “to stoop”.
