DescriptionThis is a greenish to dark brown crystalline carbonate rock. Unlike most carbonate rocks, this has an intrusive igneous origin. The sample, about 9 cm across, contains principally calcite and (lesser amounts of) siderite. Quartz, barite, pyrite, and several other minor minerals are also present.
