| Description | Beryl is a silicate with the chemical formula Be3Al2(SiO3)6. Beryl is not a well known mineral and it comes in many color varieties. The green beryl, emerald and the blue beryl, aquamarine, are the most popular among gem collectors. Some varieties are fluorescent or insoluble in acids. Beryl is a very important economic mineral and the major source of beryllium. |
