DescriptionMalachite, Cu2(CO3)(OH)2 (copper carbonate hydroxide), is a famous and very popular semi-precious stone. It is named for the Greek word for “mallow”, a green herb. The light and dark green bands are so distictive that malachite maybe one of the most easily recognized minerals by the general public.
