DescriptionPrehnite, Ca2Al2Si3O10(OH)2 (calcium aluminum silicate hydroxide), is found in faintly yellowish-white coarse lamellar to platy aggregates, some of the plates being in fan-shaped groups and is usually green in color. An imperfect pinacoidal cleavage shows a pearly luster. The specific gravity is 2.89 to 2.96. This sample is about 9 mm in diameter.
