DescriptionThis fine grained sandstone is sample #45 from the Ward’s Collection of Classic North American Rocks. Quartz is the dominant mineral. Chert, feldspar, zircon, tourmaline, muscovite, pyrite, and hematite are also present but generally cannot be seen without a microscope. The sample is 10.5 cm across.
