Description | Lepidolite belongs to the mica group. It has the chemical formula of KLi2Al(Al,Si)3O10(F,OH)2. Lepidolite is an uncommon mica and has only recently become available on the mineral market in large quantities. The name comes from the Greek lepidion, meaning scale and lithos, meaning stone. Green lepidolite is more uncommon than its purple sister. |
