DescriptionRipidolite is a phyllosilicate and a form of clinochlore. It occurs in contact, hydrothermal, and regional metamorphism of mafic minerals. Ripidolite's chemical formula is (Mg,Fe)5Al(Si3Al)O10(OH)8. Ripidolite comes from the Greek rhipis, meaning “fan” and lithos, meaning “stone”.
