Description | Chrysophrase is the apple-green variaty of chalcedony. Chalcedony is a cyptocrystalline (crystals too small to be seen even by a microscope) variety of quartz. These varieties are divided more by character than by color. Chalcedony or agate is divided into innumeral types that have been named for locally common varieties. Chrysoprase is most often mistakan as a variaty of jade. |
