DescriptionIn this porphyritic extrusive igneous rock, the blocky greenish-gray crystals are plagioclase phenocrysts. The gray-green finer grained material surrounding them is a matrix of plagioclase, pyroxene, hornblende and biotite. This specimen is 9 cm across.
