Title | Triphylite with muscovite |
Description | Triphylite, Li(Fe,Mn)PO4, is a rather scarce phosphate mineral. It is closely related to lithiophilite; the two minerals only differ in Mn to Fe ratios. This specimen contains mostly muscovite, a lot of bluish triphylite and some minor brown lithiophilite. Triphylite and lithiophilite are generally fine grained and massive, rarely forming good crystals. This specimen is 12 cm across. |
