Description | Most of this sample is linnaeite, Co3S4. Usually it is gray-white and metallic, but the top surface in this photograph is coated with manganese oxides (wad). Linnaeite is normally a trace mineral that occurs with other cobalt sulfides. In a few places it is an important ore mineral. This sample is about 6 cm across. |
