DescriptionHausmannite, Mn3O4 (manganese oxide), is usually not a beautiful mineral. These black nodules (up to 2 cm across) are typical, although some specimens can have a bright metallic luster and form well-shaped crystals. Most manganese oxide samples are probably mixtures of several different minerals.
