Description | Limonite is a term used for mixtures of iron oxide and hydroxide minerals. Generally is is made of goethite, FeO(OH), which varies from yellow to brown to black in color. However, distinguishing amongst the various iron hydroxides is often difficult or impossible. This specimen is about 7.5 cm. |
