Title | Orpiment from Kurdistan, Turkey |
Description | Orpiment, As2S3 (arsenic sulfide), is a rare mineral that usually forms with realgar. In this specimen, however, the realgar is absent. Orpiment's yellow color is distinctive and can only be confused with a few other minerals. Crystals of orpiment are extremely rare as it usually forms masses and crusts.
