Description | Paleocene strata of the upper Ludlow and lower Tongue River Formations (Fort Union Group)are exposed in the foreground on a bend in the Little Missouri River in T. 136 N., R. 104 W. (center right edge), in northwestern Slope County. Both upper Paleocene and Oligocene strata are found in the distant view east of Bullion Butte on the border between Golden Valley and Billings Counties in southwestern North Dakota. Numerous slump features are present along the bluffs of the river. |
