TitleDyscrasite, Ag3Sb
DescriptionDyscrasite, Ag3Sb (silver antimonide), can be beautiful silver-white and metallic when fresh, but like many silver minerals it quickly tarnishes when exposed to air. So, this specimen (2.2 cm across) is dark gray, showing only a minor metallic luster. Dyscrasite is a silver-antimony alloy, and occurs in large amounts in some silver deposits. Rare valuable samples may consist of intricate and strikingly beautiful crystals and crystal aggregates.
