Description | Colusite, Cu3(As,Sn,V,Fe,Te)S4, is the dark colored mineral; quartz is the white mineral. Colusite is typcially brownish to bronze-colored. It is a sulfide of copper and arsenic with vanadium, iron, and tellurium substituting for some of the arsenic. Here it is in visible crystals, but a massive form is more typical. It is found with other sulfides in hydrothermal copper ore veins. This specimen is 2.8 cm across. |
