Description | This specimen is 7 cm across. Most of the specimen is galena, PbS. The galena is coated with a thin layer of golden pyrite, FeS2. Corners of a cube show in the middle of the sample - the cubic shape comes from the underlying galena crystals. This sample comes from the famous mining district near Joplin, Missouri. |
