TitleCoarsely crystalline epidote from Peru
DescriptionThis specimen, 9 cm in longest dimension, contains mostly radiating crystals of dark green-black epidote, Ca2(Al,Fe)3Si3O12(OH). Minor quartz (clear, white) is also present. Epidote is typically fine grained or massive with a “pistachio” color. When in radiating aggregates, such as this specimen, the color generally appears darker.
